Lead the transition of the B2B2C SaaS startup from grant funding to Series A ready.

Oversaw the building out of the product team and the refining of the product into a sellable customer-focussed proposition.
Results
The reworked product proposition and clear roadmap attracted $1m investment.
Provenance started out as a project to look at how businesses can be more transparent about their supply chains. And how blockchain could play a part in tracking and recording ingredients, processes and locations to build trust with the consumer.
Alongside the CTO and CEO, I did a lot of work on the proposition, interaction flows and data storage and management. I like to work in the open. Frequent ‘wall sessions’ ensure the team comes along for the ride.
After bootstrapping through small grant funding awards, Provenance needed to rationalise their product offering on receiving their first 6-figure funding round.
As Head of Product I worked closely with the founder to exploit the learning opportunities afforded by consulting engagements. We ran business and consumer tests to identify a product that was likely to move the business to product-market fit.
Lots of consumer testing of off-pack activations was carried out. Supply chain tracking of Tuna from the Indian Ocean was our hero use case. All logged on the blockchain.
We tested many hypothesis until we hit on a scaleable proposition. Product proof points became a simple, sellable, easily understood ecommerce product plugin for brands.
This was a pivot away from the initial proposition of supply chain transparency through ingredient tracking on the blockchain.
As a B2B2C proposition, there are always two products to design. The admin for the business and the mobile experience for the end consumer.
I oversaw the development of the proof point design system whilst building out a long term roadmap and continuing to create provocations for customers and the business.
It’s not every day you get to see your work in the V&A museum.
Provenance continue to attract venture funding with a growing platform based on the proof point proposition.
